About the role#
As a Thermal and Fluid Sciences Engineering Co-Op, you will work on the performance and architecture of systems and components. You will apply core competencies in thermal and fluid sciences to help integrate products that meet customer and regulatory requirements. This role involves using analytical tools, including three-dimensional modeling, to answer technical questions and drive product decisions.
What you'll do#
- Analyze products through simulation and physical testing.
- Develop system level optimized solutions for engine, power, fuel, air, filtration, and battery or fuel cell systems.
- Apply principles of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, energy conversion, and heat transfer to real-world problems.
- Investigate product, system, or technology problems and recommend actions for resolution.
- Use your understanding of fundamental physics to identify causal mechanisms.
- Collaborate with colleagues and key stakeholders to advance projects.
- Participate in problem resolution for complex components and systems.
What you'll need#
- Full-time enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited U.S. college or university.
- Pursuit of a degree in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Industrial, Aerospace, or Biomedical Engineering.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week.
- Current residency within the continental U.S.
- Knowledge of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, thermodynamics, filtration, and combustion.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- A willingness to learn.
