About the role#
This internship or co-op position focuses on structural, dynamic, and acoustic engineering. You will work with a team to investigate product problems, understand their causes, and recommend actions. You will also help develop computational tools and methods to support design and validation processes. While you will not manage people, you may coordinate work with other engineers or technicians. You will receive guidance from experienced team members as you develop your technical knowledge.
What you'll do#
- Investigate product and system problems and document results.
- Execute and improve established engineering processes.
- Develop computational tools to support design and validation.
- Assist in obtaining input from design, thermal sciences, materials, and product validation teams.
- Deliver computer models and results for structural parameters like stress, motion, load, and sound power.
- Support design decisions through numerical predictions.
- Participate in problem resolution for systems and components.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time enrollment in an accredited U.S. college or university pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree.
- Majors considered include Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.
- A minimum 2.5 GPA is preferred.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week for a 10-12 week commitment.
- Currently residing within the continental U.S.
- Proficiency in applying principles of fatigue and durability, noise and acoustics, and dynamics and vibration.
- Experience with product systems modeling, analysis, and simulation.
- Skills in product problem solving and statistical methods.
