About the role#
This laboratory-focused internship involves designing and specifying test systems for engineering evaluation. You will support the specification, design, implementation, and validation of systems including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, instrumentation, and data acquisition. You will work on-site to help optimize product designs.
What you'll do#
- Investigate product test system and process problems, identify causal mechanisms, and document results.
- Apply and improve processes such as test system specification, design, and validation.
- Deliver test system requirements and instructions to lab technicians, engineers, and equipment suppliers.
- Support decisions regarding component selection, calibration, and operating processes to improve test equipment accuracy and reliability.
- Assist with problem resolution for moderately complex components, systems, and subsystems.
- Coordinate work among engineers and technicians while developing your own technical knowledge.
What you'll need#
- Full-time enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited U.S. college or university.
- Pursuing a degree in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Aerospace, Biomedical, or Environmental Engineering.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5 is preferred.
- Currently residing within the continental United States.
- Knowledge of measurement science, product function test system design, lab equipment safety, data quality, and project management.
- A willingness to learn from team members on the job.
