About the role#
This summer internship position focuses on health, safety, and environmental initiatives within our manufacturing operations. You will work on-site to support hazard reduction, compliance, and safety program development. This is a full-time role designed for students who want to apply engineering and analytical skills to real-world industrial safety challenges.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the application and use of engineering controls to reduce risks on-site.
- Anticipate, identify, and evaluate hazardous conditions and work practices.
- Develop basic hazard control designs, methods, and programs.
- Administer and communicate hazard control programs to the team.
- Interpret and apply internal and external standards to ensure compliance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Economics, or Statistics.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5 is preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of occupational health and safety, including risk assessment, personal protective equipment, behavior-based safety, machine safety, and confined space entry.
- Understanding of OSHA regulations and Voluntary Protection Programs.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and 5-why analysis.
- A willingness to learn from others on the job.
- Availability to work 40 hours per week for a commitment ranging from 4 to 12 months.
- Must currently reside within the continental United States.
