    About the role#

    The Engineering Co-Op provides general support for product design, CAD documentation, and lab testing. You will work on projects that support industrial, commercial, residential, municipal, and military markets. This is a full-time, paid position based in Piqua, Ohio, for the Summer 2027 term.

    What you'll do#

    • Prepare layout drawings, assemblies, and dimensional analysis.
    • Perform product performance calculations and review mechanical components.
    • Create and maintain Bills of Material structures.
    • Design new or modified products using CAD equipment.
    • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to solve inspection, assembly, and testing problems.
    • Investigate product improvement opportunities and develop solutions.
    • Build test apparatus and run product verification tests in the lab.
    • Provide technical assistance to engineering and other departments.
    • Communicate with personnel across the company and external suppliers or customers.
    • Travel as needed for customer and supplier liaison activities.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, or Electrical Engineering.
    • Experience with modeling software, preferably SolidWorks.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, and Access.
    • Strong communication and organizational skills.
    • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and process instructions.
    • Skill in reading and interpreting technical procedures, professional journals, and regulations.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Ability to operate safely in factory settings and lift up to 25 pounds.
