About the role#
The Engineering Co-Op provides support for product design, CAD documentation, and lab testing. You will work on projects for industrial, commercial, residential, municipal, and military markets. This is a full-time, paid position for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Prepare layout drawings, assemblies, and perform dimensional analysis.
- Design new or modified products using CAD software.
- Create and maintain Bills of Material structures.
- Perform product performance calculations and review mechanical components for compatibility.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to solve problems related to inspection, assembly, and testing.
- Work in the lab to build test apparatus and run product verification tests.
- Investigate product improvement opportunities and develop solutions.
- Provide technical assistance to engineering and other departments.
- Communicate with personnel across the company, as well as suppliers and customers.
- Travel as needed for customer and supplier liaison activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a B.S. program for Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Tech, or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience with modeling software, preferably SolidWorks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, and Access.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and process instructions.
- Capability to read and interpret technical procedures and professional journals.
- Ability to safely operate in factory settings and perform occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail.
