About the role#
The IT Development Co-op supports the development and enhancement of applications, AI-enabled capabilities, and business processes. You will work under the guidance of the lead developer and supervisors on the Business Development and Underwriting Tech team. This role involves assisting with large language model training, defining AI model rules, and validating outputs. You will also develop application features, test solutions, and collaborate with partners to improve operational readiness.
What you'll do#
- Manage assignments using the ticket tracking system.
- Discuss requirements and expected outcomes with stakeholders and the lead developer.
- Plan and design solutions for application, process, data, or AI-related work.
- Prepare, label, and review data to support LLM and AI model training.
- Configure and test AI model rules, prompts, and exception-handling logic.
- Run test scenarios and compare model outputs against expected results.
- Monitor model performance, data quality, and consistency.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including designs and training procedures.
- Develop solutions that follow team standards and approved designs.
- Participate in code reviews, team meetings, and knowledge-transfer sessions.
- Execute unit, integration, and user acceptance testing.
- Manage code and configuration changes in the relevant repository.
What you'll need#
- Currently working towards a bachelor’s degree or possess comparable work experience in Computer Science, IT, or Engineering.
- Proven application development skills.
- Knowledge of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and SOLID practices.
- Understanding of dependency injection, ORMs, and TDD principles.
- Familiarity with C#, JavaScript, HTML5, jQuery, and CSS.
- Experience with ASP.Net MVC, ASP.Net Core, Entity Framework, and KendoUI.
- Familiarity with testing frameworks like NUnit, xUnit, MStest, and Moq or Rhino Mocks.
- Knowledge of source code repository systems such as Git or TFS VC.
- Experience with Ajax, Promises, and asynchronous programming.
