About the role#
Cornerstone Advocacy Service is seeking an Operations Intern to support the daily functions of our organization. This role provides hands-on experience in a non-profit environment focused on advocacy, support, and violence prevention. You will work directly with the Operations Manager to ensure our administrative systems run efficiently.
What you'll do#
- Handle general office duties such as filing, answering phones, data entry, and managing correspondence.
- Coordinate meetings and events by preparing materials and providing logistical support.
- Help manage tasks and prioritize daily operations.
- Conduct research to help improve administrative processes and support organizational initiatives.
- Maintain and organize paper and electronic filing systems, including a specific project focused on file retention and destruction.
- Assist the Operations Manager with scheduling interviews, organizing candidate materials, and supporting new hire onboarding.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a relevant degree program, such as Business Administration.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize your workload.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with team members.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Zoom, along with general comfort using technology.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and handle confidential information with discretion.
- A commitment to the mission of Cornerstone and a passion for social justice.

- This position is located on-site in Bloomington, Minnesota.
- This is an unpaid internship.
- The role is full-time with weekday availability required.
