About the role#
Cornerstone Advocacy Service is seeking a Front Desk Intern to provide reception and administrative support. You will serve as the first point of contact for staff, visitors, and participants. This role helps ensure the safe and efficient operation of our office. This is an unpaid internship, suitable for those seeking academic credit or professional experience in the non-profit sector.
What you'll do#
- Greet visitors and answer questions in person and over the phone.
- Maintain a tidy front desk area and manage office correspondence.
- Follow visitor sign-in and identification procedures while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Escalate safety concerns to the Operations Manager.
- Perform administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and copying.
- Track incoming and outgoing mail and email.
- Monitor office supplies and assist with donation coordination.
- Support event logistics and day-of operations.
- Organize paper and electronic files and assist with file retention projects.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in or recent graduation from a relevant degree program, such as business administration.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Zoom.
- Comfort with technology and the ability to exercise good judgment.
- A passion for social justice and commitment to the mission of Cornerstone.
