About the role#
The Field Operations Intern supports Superintendents and Project Managers by helping with safety program administration, quantity tracking, schedule analysis, and job site documentation. This full-time, on-site role provides hands-on experience in field coordination, schedule management, and construction quality during the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Support the administration of the project safety program and conduct safety walks.
- Provide technical assistance by interpreting contract drawings, submittals, and project documentation.
- Prepare daily reports and compile quantity reports.
- Assist the project team with daily and weekly activities.
- Update project schedules and review the short-term planning process.
- Participate in the quality assurance program, perform site inspections, and verify materials for compliance.
- Coordinate subcontractor activities.
- Maintain project documentation including daily logs, RFIs, and submittal tracking.
- Monitor onsite material deliveries and inventory.
- Participate in project team meetings and observe site conditions.
- Use construction management software to track project information.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of construction site safety standards and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents.
- Basic understanding of construction scheduling and critical path method concepts.
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive problem-solving abilities and an analytical mindset.
- Attention to detail and effective time management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- An aptitude for learning construction management software.
