About the role#
The Field Operations Intern supports Superintendents and Project Managers with safety program administration, quantity tracking, schedule analysis, and job site documentation. This full-time summer position provides hands-on experience in field coordination and construction quality. You will work on-site in Pleasant Valley, New York.
What you'll do#
- Support the administration of the project safety program to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
- Provide technical assistance by interpreting contract drawings, submittals, and project documentation.
- Assist the project team with daily reports, conduct safety walks, and compile quantity reports.
- Participate in the quality assurance program by attending meetings and performing site inspections.
- Monitor onsite material deliveries and inventory to help keep the project on track.
- Update project schedules and contribute to short-term planning.
- Maintain documentation such as daily logs, RFIs, and submittal tracking.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of construction site safety standards, practices, and protocols.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, submittals, and technical documents.
- A basic understanding of construction scheduling, including critical path method concepts.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
