About the role#
The Field Operations Intern supports Superintendents and Project Managers with safety program administration, schedule analysis, and job site documentation. This full-time, on-site role provides hands-on experience in field coordination and construction quality. You will work directly on-site in Portland, Maine, during the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Support the project safety program to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
- Assist with daily and weekly tasks, such as preparing daily reports and conducting safety walks.
- Review and contribute to short-term planning to help the team meet project milestones.
- Coordinate subcontractor activities to ensure adherence to timelines and safety requirements.
- Maintain project documentation, including daily logs, RFIs, and submittal tracking.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of construction site safety standards and protocols.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, submittals, and technical documents.
- Basic understanding of construction scheduling and critical path method concepts.
