Field Operations Co-op (Fall 2026)

About the role#

The Field Operations Co-op supports superintendents and project managers by assisting with safety program administration, quantity tracking, schedule analysis, and job site documentation. This role provides hands-on experience in field coordination, schedule management, and construction quality.

What you'll do#

• Support the administration of the project safety program to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
• Provide technical assistance by interpreting contract drawings, submittals, and project documentation.
• Assist the assistant superintendent, superintendent, and project manager with daily and weekly activities, including preparing daily reports, conducting safety walks, compiling quantity reports, and updating project schedules.
• Develop an understanding of the overall project schedule, including critical path analysis.
• Review and contribute to short-term planning to ensure project milestones are met.
• Participate in quality assurance by attending meetings, performing site inspections, and verifying material compliance.
• Coordinate subcontractor activities to support adherence to timelines and safety requirements.
• Maintain project documentation such as daily logs, RFIs, and submittal tracking.
• Monitor onsite material deliveries and inventory.
• Participate in project team meetings to communicate updates, challenges, and solutions.
• Observe and report site conditions that impact schedule, cost, or safety.
• Utilize construction management software to track and update project information.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of construction site safety standards, practices, and protocols.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) with an aptitude for learning construction management software.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, submittals, and technical documents.
• Basic understanding of construction scheduling, including critical path method (CPM) concepts.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and time management skills.
