About the role#
The Field Operations Co-op supports the project team by assisting with safety program administration, site documentation, and schedule analysis. You will work on-site in Portland, Maine, gaining hands-on experience with field coordination and quality control processes.
What you'll do#
- Support the administration of the project safety program to maintain a compliant work environment.
- Assist the assistant superintendent, superintendent, and project manager with daily activities like preparing reports and conducting safety walks.
- Participate in the quality assurance program by attending meetings and performing site inspections.
- Coordinate subcontractor activities to help the team meet project timelines.
- Use construction management software to track project information and maintain documentation.
- Interpret contract drawings, submittals, and technical documents to provide technical assistance.
- Monitor onsite material deliveries and inventory to keep work moving.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related construction field.
- Basic knowledge of construction site safety standards and protocols.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Understanding of construction scheduling, including critical path method concepts.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents.
