About the role#
The Field Operations Co-op supports the project team by assisting with safety program administration, schedule analysis, and job site documentation. This role provides hands-on experience in field coordination, quality assurance, and project management within a construction environment.
What you'll do#
- Support the administration of the project safety program to ensure a compliant work environment.
- Assist the assistant superintendent, superintendent, and project manager with daily activities, including preparing reports, conducting safety walks, and updating schedules.
- Participate in the quality assurance program by attending meetings, performing site inspections, and verifying material compliance.
- Coordinate subcontractor activities to support adherence to project timelines and safety requirements.
- Utilize construction management software and tools to track and update project information.
- Monitor material deliveries and maintain project documentation such as logs, RFIs, and submittal tracking.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of construction site safety standards, practices, and protocols.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and an aptitude for learning construction management software.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, submittals, and technical documents.
- Basic understanding of construction scheduling, including critical path method (CPM) concepts.
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
