About the role#
The Field Operations Co-op supports superintendents and project managers with daily site operations. This role involves hands-on experience in field coordination, schedule management, and construction quality oversight. You will assist in maintaining project documentation, monitoring site conditions, and ensuring project milestones are met.
What you'll do#
- Support the administration of the project safety program to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
- Provide technical assistance by interpreting contract drawings, submittals, and project documentation.
- Assist the assistant superintendent, superintendent, and project manager with daily and weekly activities, including preparing reports and conducting safety walks.
- Develop a clear understanding of the overall project schedule, including critical path analysis.
- Coordinate subcontractor activities to support adherence to project timelines and safety requirements.
- Maintain project documentation such as daily logs, RFIs, and submittal tracking.
- Monitor onsite material deliveries and inventory to facilitate project progress.
- Participate in project team meetings to communicate updates and address site challenges.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, Operations Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of construction site safety standards, practices, and protocols.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, submittals, and technical documents.
- Basic understanding of construction scheduling, including critical path method concepts.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
