The Field Operations Co-op supports Superintendents and Project Managers with safety program administration, quantity tracking, schedule analysis, and job site documentation. This full-time, on-site position provides hands-on experience in field coordination, schedule management, and construction quality.
What you'll do#
- Support the administration of the project safety program to ensure a compliant work environment.
- Provide technical assistance by interpreting contract drawings, submittals, and project documentation.
- Assist the assistant superintendent, superintendent, and project manager with daily and weekly activities, including preparing daily reports, conducting safety walks, compiling quantity reports, and updating project schedules.
- Develop an understanding of the overall project schedule, including critical path analysis, and contribute to short-term planning.
- Participate in the quality assurance program by attending meetings, performing site inspections, and verifying materials for compliance.
- Coordinate subcontractor activities to support adherence to timelines and safety requirements.
- Maintain project documentation, including daily logs, RFIs, and submittal tracking.
- Monitor onsite material deliveries and inventory to facilitate project progress.
- Utilize construction management software to track and update project information.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, Business Administration, Architecture, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of construction site safety standards and protocols.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and an aptitude for learning construction management software.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, submittals, and technical documents.
- Strong organizational skills for managing documentation and reporting.
- Basic understanding of construction scheduling, including critical path method (CPM) concepts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
