About the role#
The Engineering Intern is a temporary role focused on building and operating digital solutions. You will work within a cross-functional product team to gain practical experience while developing your technical and professional capabilities. Under the guidance of experienced engineers, you will learn how engineering work connects to product objectives and business value.
What you'll do#
- Complete well-defined engineering assignments with a focus on quality, reliability, and security.
- Apply software engineering fundamentals while learning about cloud-native development, automated testing, and CI/CD practices.
- Use AI-enabled engineering tools and Agentic AI patterns to improve productivity and learning, while maintaining human accountability.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, technical discussions, code reviews, and documentation.
- Build working relationships with engineers, product managers, architects, and UX designers.
- Seek coaching and apply feedback to grow your technical skills and understanding of business priorities.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Completed coursework in programming, algorithms, data structures, or software engineering fundamentals.
- Experience developing software through academic projects, hackathons, research, or open-source contributions.
- Experience with at least one modern programming language or development framework.
- Familiarity with Git-based source control and Agile development.
- Ability to analyze technical problems and apply engineering principles to find solutions.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship.

- Term: Summer 2027.
- Status: Full-time.
- Compensation: Paid position, with an hourly rate between $19 and $20.
- Modality: Hybrid work environment.
- Locations: Bloomington, Illinois; Mankato, Minnesota; or Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.
