About the role#
Community Legal Aid offers a full-time law student internship for Summer 2027. Interns work across our substantive practice areas to assist attorneys in representing clients. You will participate in weekly learning sessions that introduce the different types of legal aid work we perform.
What you'll do#
- Conduct client interviews and provide advice under appropriate supervision.
- Research and draft briefs and other legal documents.
- Assist in preparing pleadings for legal matters.
- Help staff advocates prepare for trials and hearings.
- Attend community meetings, outreach events, and court or agency hearings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABA-accredited Juris Doctor (JD) or Master of Law (LLM) program.
- Demonstrated experience or a strong interest in public interest law.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site in Worcester, Massachusetts.
- The internship is a full-time position for 10 weeks.
- We pay summer interns if they are unable to secure external funding or stipends from their law schools.
