About the role#
The Radiology Student PRN position offers an opportunity to gain clinical experience while enrolled in an accredited Radiologic Technology program. This role involves performing diagnostic imaging procedures under the direct supervision of a registered Radiologic Technologist. You will build technical skills and clinical competency through supervised learning across various imaging modalities.
What you'll do#
- Perform radiologic examinations while ensuring proper patient identification and adherence to imaging protocols.
- Position patients appropriately and select technical factors to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Communicate with patients to provide instructions and support their comfort during procedures.
- Follow department protocols for radiation safety, infection control, and the use of personal protective equipment.
- Accurately label images and use side markers according to departmental standards.
- Document procedures in electronic systems, ensuring all exam fields are completed and charges are entered.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized imaging environment.
- Seek guidance from technologists and clinical instructors to ensure safe and competent performance.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Zero to one year of clinical experience.
- Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification, which must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to follow instructions and apply feedback in a clinical learning environment.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with electronic health records.
