About the role#
This Pharmacy Intern PRN position offers a comprehensive learning experience in hospital pharmacy operations. The role is designed for University of Arizona College of Pharmacy students entering their second year in Fall 2026. You will work alongside licensed pharmacists to gain practical experience in medication dispensing, patient care, and inventory management.
What you'll do#
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications according to prescriptions and established protocols.
- Participate in medication reconciliation and manage medication therapy for patients.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels, including ordering and restocking medications.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to gather medication histories and provide patient education under pharmacist supervision.
- Perform routine checks on medication storage areas to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all pharmacy activities and interventions.
- Participate in pharmacy rounds and contribute to departmental projects or clinical activities.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an approved program with the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE).
- 0-1 years of Introductory or Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience as part of a training program.
- Current LPT Licensed Pharmacy Tech State Pharmacy Intern or Technician Registration/Permit.
