About the role#
The Nurse Intern supports patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role focuses on hands-on learning and collaboration to provide safe and compassionate care. Interns assist with essential tasks to help maintain a therapeutic environment for patients and their families.
What you'll do#
- Provide basic patient care within your scope of practice, including vital sign monitoring and hygiene assistance.
- Communicate effectively with the care team by participating in handoffs, bedside shift reports, and reporting changes in patient conditions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in patient rooms and shared workspaces.
- Assist with the maintenance and cleaning of basic patient care equipment.
- Perform hourly rounding to foster therapeutic relationships with patients.
- Document all tasks and observations accurately according to facility standards.
- Uphold high standards of customer service for patients and their families.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Nursing program.
- Completion of fundamentals of clinicals in an accredited Nursing program.
- 0-1 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
- Active CPR certification from the AHA, ARC, or ASHI.
- Fingerprint Clearance Card (required for Skilled Nursing).
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
