About the role#
The Nurse Intern supports patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role focuses on hands-on learning, collaboration with the healthcare team, and providing safe, compassionate care to enhance the patient experience.
What you'll do#
- Provide basic patient care within your scope of practice, including monitoring vital signs and assisting with hygiene and patient comfort.
- Communicate effectively with the care team by reporting changes in patient conditions and participating in shift reports.
- Develop clinical skills by asking questions, seeking feedback, and applying evidence-based practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including patient rooms and shared workspaces.
- Assist with the maintenance, cleaning, and storage of patient care equipment.
- Perform hourly rounding and purposeful patient interactions to foster therapeutic relationships.
- Document all tasks and observations clearly, accurately, and in a timely manner.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Nursing program.
- Completion of fundamentals of clinicals in an accredited Nursing program.
- Zero to one year of experience in a healthcare setting.
- CPR certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute.
- A Fingerprint Clearance Card is required for Skilled Nursing assignments.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
