About the role#
This internship provides clinical training within the IICAPS program, which serves children and adolescents aged 3 to 18. The program focuses on stabilizing youth within their homes and communities, developing strength-based treatment plans, and improving relationships within the family, school, and community. Interns work alongside experienced staff to support children who have a history of or are at risk of hospitalization.
What you'll do#
- Gain firsthand experience in clinical mental health and substance abuse evaluation and treatment.
- Assist with comprehensive assessments and treatment planning.
- Support the development of independent living skills.
- Provide outreach treatment services.
- Participate in medication evaluation and monitoring.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Master’s degree program in a mental health field.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Demonstrated experience in mental health treatment is preferred but not required.
Location & details#
- Location: Manchester, Connecticut.
- Schedule: 15 to 20 hours per week, flexible Monday through Friday.
- This is a paid internship opportunity.
