About the role#
This internship provides clinical training within the IICAPS program, which serves children and adolescents aged 3 to 18 who are at risk of hospitalization. The program focuses on stabilizing youth in their homes and communities through strength-based assessments and treatment plans. Interns work alongside experienced staff to support family, school, and community relationships.
What you'll do#
- Gain experience in clinical mental health and substance abuse evaluation and treatment.
- Assist with comprehensive assessments and the development of treatment plans.
- Support clients in developing independent living skills.
- Provide outreach treatment services.
- Participate in medication evaluation and monitoring.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Master’s degree program in a mental health field, such as Psychology, Public Health, or Nursing.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Demonstrated experience in mental health treatment is preferred but not required.
Location & details#
- Location: Manchester, Connecticut.
- Schedule: 15 to 20 hours per week, flexible Monday through Friday.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
