About the role#
The HR Employment Specialist Internship is a full-time, paid position based at our Sun Prairie, Wisconsin distribution center. This role runs from June through December 2027. You will support our team in meeting temporary hiring goals to ensure we have the staff needed for our operations.
What you'll do#
Your primary focus is the end-to-end hiring process for temporary staff. You will handle the following responsibilities:
- Interviewing candidates and hiring new employees.
- Orientating new staff members.
- Performing background and reference checks on applicants.
- Processing hiring-related paperwork.
- Conducting surveys with temporary employees.
- Entering and updating drug screening information.
- Assisting the Human Resource Manager with various projects and tasks.
What you'll need#
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate strong, consistent, and empathetic communication skills. You should have a foundational understanding of the Human Resource function and the ability to handle difficult conversations with diplomacy.
Additional requirements include:
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Associate degree program in Business Administration, Management, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Junior or Senior academic standing, recent graduates, or those who have completed an Associate degree in Business.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.80 or higher.
- Effective presentation and exceptional organizational skills.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
