About the role#
This is a 12-week internship for Summer 2027 based in New York. You will join the Payments Risk Management team to help protect customers from fraud across payment rails like ACH, card, and real-time payments. You will work alongside risk professionals, product teams, and engineers to strengthen fraud controls and keep bad actors off the platform.
What you'll do#
- Write SQL queries and build dashboards to detect anomalous behavior.
- Analyze risk trends and monitor payment fraud signals.
- Present data findings and recommendations to Payments Risk leadership.
- Partner with Product, Data Science, and Engineering teams to develop and test risk management strategies.
- Evaluate existing rules and controls for effectiveness.
- Collaborate with Customer Experience and Risk Analytics teams to improve the user journey.
- Document and refine operational processes for the risk team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree or certificate program related to technology, finance, or analytics, or equivalent experience.
- At least 1 year of hands-on SQL experience.
- Ability to translate data into clear, structured recommendations.
- Familiarity with dashboarding tools like Tableau or Looker.
- Experience using generative AI responsibly while maintaining human oversight.
