About the role#
The Software Engineering Fellowship is a 10 to 12-week paid, full-time summer program for undergraduate students. It focuses on technical learning and professional skill development. This track is designed for students who have not held a software engineering internship before, specifically targeting rising sophomores and juniors in the classes of 2028 and 2029. You will work in a hybrid capacity from our Chicago office.
What you'll do#
- Join a software development team to participate in the full life cycle of projects from start to finish.
- Attend technical talks led by CME Group employees to learn about our coding practices and team dynamics.
- Receive coaching and mentorship from managers focused on your skill growth.
- Gain insight into how to prepare for technical interviews.
- Build your professional network and form friendships with other students from across the country.
- Participate in company events, including coding challenges and speaker series.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree program for computer science or a related field.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- A genuine interest in technology, problem solving, and continuous learning.
- You must be affiliated with one of the following programs: CME Foundation Scholars, CME Star Scholars, Arrupe College, Braven Fellows, Chicago Scholars, City Colleges of Chicago School of Excellence for Engineering and Computer Science, College Possible, Genesys Works, Posse Foundation, or Rock the Street Wall Street. Please note your affiliation on your resume.
