About the role#
This internship offers hands-on experience in employee onboarding, training coordination, and workforce development. You will work alongside experienced professionals to support orientation, training activities, and programs that help employees succeed. You will gain exposure to the people, processes, and safety culture that drive operations in the field.
What you'll do#
- Prioritize health and safety by following all work practices, policies, and procedures.
- Shadow Training and Development professionals to learn how programs are coordinated and delivered.
- Assist with facilitating Day 1 onboarding and orientation for new hires.
- Support presentations on company culture, safety expectations, and workplace policies.
- Help create a welcoming learning environment for new employees.
- Manage training schedules, onboarding documentation, learning management systems, and training records.
- Support communication between new employees, instructors, Human Resources, and operational teams.
- Gain exposure to technical, safety, and competency-based training programs.
- Travel to other training or branch locations as needed to support activities.
- Participate in networking and professional development activities.
- Complete and present a final internship project at the end of the program.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Training Administration, Adult Education, or a related field.
- Strong interest in employee training, onboarding, and workforce development.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Comfort speaking in front of groups and interest in developing facilitation skills.
- Detail-oriented approach with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate documentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively with employees, instructors, and operational leaders.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to learn new training systems and technology.
- Ability and willingness to travel as needed.

- Location: La Porte, Texas.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May 17 or May 24 start date through August).
- Modality: Full-time, on-site.
- Compensation: $20/hour.
