About the role#
Clean Harbors is hiring a Sales Intern for our Summer 2027 Industrial Services Internship Program. Based at our corporate headquarters in Norwell, Massachusetts, this role supports HPC Industrial. You will gain hands-on experience in sales, customer engagement, and market development within the environmental and industrial services sector. This is a full-time, paid position at $20/hour.
What you'll do#
- Prioritize health and safety by complying with all work practices and policies.
- Shadow sales team members to learn customer engagement strategies and the sales process.
- Participate in internal sales meetings, pipeline reviews, and customer discussions.
- Learn about Clean Harbors and HPC Industrial capabilities, customers, and market opportunities.
- Analyze customer interactions to identify trends and opportunities.
- Conduct market research to identify emerging or underserved customer segments.
- Develop a strategic sales plan for an identified market opportunity.
- Execute outreach via email, phone, and in-person meetings.
- Track and report on outreach activity and conversion progress.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, operations, and technical teams.
- Prepare updates and insights for internal stakeholders.
- Take part in networking and professional development activities through the internship program.
- Develop and deliver a final project presentation summarizing your findings and results.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Sales or Business from an accredited college or university.
- Strong interest in the environmental and industrial services industry.
- Ability to document, record, and analyze data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or other relevant technical tools.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
