About the role#
Clean Harbors is seeking a Project Manager Intern for our Summer 2027 Industrial Services program in Owensboro, Kentucky. This full-time, paid internship offers hands-on experience in project planning, field operations, and customer support. You will work directly with Project Managers and operations teams to learn how industrial services projects are executed from start to finish.
What you'll do#
- Prioritize health and safety by following all protocols and safe work practices.
- Support Project Managers in planning, scheduling, and developing project scopes and cost estimates.
- Gain field experience by visiting job sites and observing daily project activities.
- Participate in project planning meetings, operational discussions, and customer meetings.
- Assist with tracking project progress, timelines, and deliverables.
- Learn how regulatory standards and safety requirements are integrated into field execution.
- Partner with field teams to understand the equipment, staffing, and resources needed for successful projects.
- Assist with customer communications and project status updates.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and processes.
- Complete and present a final project at the end of the program.
- Participate in company networking and professional development activities.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree or certificate in Project Management, Construction Management, Process Technology, Industrial Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong interest in building a career in industrial services, field operations, or project management.
- Willingness to work in both office and field environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar technical tools.
- Ability to document, organize, and analyze project data.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and customers.
- Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb stairs, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.

- Compensation: $20 per hour.
