About the role#
This internship provides students with hands-on experience at the El Dorado Incinerator. You will work alongside experienced professionals to support projects across our environmental and industrial services operations. The program runs through the summer, beginning in May 2027 and concluding in August.
What you'll do#
- Prioritize health and safety by following all site policies and safe work practices.
- Help troubleshoot instrument and control system malfunctions.
- Shadow technicians during preventative maintenance checks, calibrations, and inspections.
- Support tasks related to cabling, power distribution, switchgear, and motor control centers.
- Gain exposure to substation equipment and medium voltage electrical systems.
- Maintain logs and records as required.
- Verify and update P&IDs, schematics, and technical documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a two-year I&E program, electrical engineering, or a relevant field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with all levels of the organization.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, bend, stoop, and stand for long periods.
- Comfort working at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Familiarity with P&IDs and electrical schematics is preferred.
