About the role#
The Alabaster Strong Fire Internship Program offers local high school students a hands-on look at a career in the fire service. You will work alongside experienced professionals at the Alabaster Fire Department to learn about the discipline, teamwork, and skills required for the job. This program provides a foundation for your future training and service through guided education and practical experience.

- Explore the core requirements of a career in the fire service.
- Participate in guided education and daily practical tasks.
- Learn directly from Alabaster Fire Department staff.
- Build a foundation for your future education and professional development.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in the 11th or 12th grade.
- Minimum age of 17 years old.
- Consent from a parent or legal guardian.
- Residency within the Alabaster community.
- Good academic standing.
- Ability to pass a physical examination, background check, and drug screening.
Location & details#
- Location: Alabaster, Alabama.
- Work schedule: Approximately 15 to 20 hours per week.
- Status: Paid internship.
