System Integration Specialist Intern

About the role#

This internship provides the opportunity to contribute to the validation of end-to-end optical networking solutions within the Optical Platform Systems organization. You will support system integration activities to ensure system behavior aligns with design intent, gaining practical engineering experience in a lab-based environment.

What you'll do#

• Conduct system-level testing using Python automation scripts and manual execution methods.
• Install and provision optical systems within a lab environment.
• Troubleshoot system-level issues identified during testing activities.
• Collaborate with System Architects to analyze and determine root causes of system behavior.
• Execute validation activities using optical and electrical test equipment.

What you'll need#

• Currently working towards a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Experience applying Linux in academic or project-based environments.
• Experience utilizing Python programming for automation or testing tasks.
• Familiarity with lab-based testing environments, fiber optics, and optical networking concepts is preferred.

• Work Modality: On-site.
• Term: Fall 2026 (8-month or 12-month terms available).
• Compensation: $25 to $32 per hour.
• Status: Full-time, paid position.
