About the role#
This internship focuses on the design and development of high-speed optical modem solutions. You will work within a collaborative engineering environment, gaining exposure to real-world product development and advanced optical communication systems.
What you'll do#
- Design simulation models for high-speed optical modem systems.
- Execute simulations and document technical results.
- Develop signal processing functions using Matlab and C++ models.
- Analyze system performance and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to review designs and propose improvements to development processes.
- Apply digital signal processing methods to solve complex communication challenges.
What you'll need#
- Currently working toward a Master’s or post-graduate degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with a focus on digital signal processing.
- Proficiency in engineering mathematics, including linear algebra, FFT/IFFT, Laplace and Z-transforms, signal analysis, probability, and statistics.
- Programming experience in Matlab, Python, and C or C++.
- Ability to apply debugging and problem-solving techniques in engineering contexts.
- Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts across varied audiences.
- Ability to operate both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of optical system components, such as DAC/ADC, amplifiers, IIR/FIR filters, equalizers, feedback loops, lasers, modulators, optical hybrids, and fiber systems is preferred.
