This is a full-time, paid internship position for the Fall 2026 term. You will join a team of hardware designers focused on the design, implementation, and verification of electro-optical circuit boards for networking and optical platforms. You will work under the guidance of an experienced engineer while contributing to projects that span electronics, optics, and mechanical disciplines.
What you'll do#
- Test and verify complex electro-optical circuit packs within a lab environment equipped for electrical and optical measurements from DC to hundreds of GHz.
- Review and test high-speed, digital, analog control, and DC/DC power circuits.
- Design test jig circuits using the Cadence Allegro ECAD Tool Suite.
- Document test plans and reports to support project goals.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings with teams including Signal Integrity, Mechanical, Thermal, Component, Optical, and Test groups.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Electrical, Optical, Computer, or Engineering Physics, or a similar field.
- Knowledge of high-speed design and transmission line theory.
- Familiarity with basic Op-Amp and power circuits.
- Experience with hands-on test and measurement equipment.
- An enthusiastic, self-starting approach to problem-solving.

- Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
- Modality: This position is on-site 5 days a week.
- Duration: 8-12 months.
- Compensation: $25.00 - $34.00 per hour.
