About the role#
CHS Inc. is hiring an Environmental Specialist Intern for our Pipelines and Terminals group in Laurel, Montana. You will work under the direction of an experienced mentor to support environmental efforts for our bulk refined product and asphalt terminals, as well as our pipeline systems.
What you'll do#
- Assist with remediation project management and oversight.
- Support waste management compliance, including waste profiling, storage, manifesting, shipping, and disposal.
- Help with air quality compliance tasks like tank inspections, emission testing, and emissions reporting.
- Review and update existing Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans.
- Review and update existing Facility Response Plans (FRPs).
- Help coordinate and participate in spill prevention and emergency response training for field employees.
- Assist in the development of a company drone program.
What you'll need#
- Completion of your Sophomore or Junior year in an environmental science, engineering, or related field at an accredited program.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.6 or better.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better is preferred.
- Previous internship or work experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred.
