About the role#
As a Supply Chain Operations Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the systems and processes that help deliver pediatric care. You will work alongside professionals in departments including Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Distribution, Warehousing, and Accounts Payable to learn how healthcare supply chains operate. This is a part-time, paid internship that offers flexibility to accommodate your academic schedule.
What you'll do#
- Collect and analyze data to support inventory management, such as PAR levels, unit-of-measure optimization, and cycle counts.
- Partner with department leaders to document, review, and evaluate operational workflows.
- Build reports, dashboards, and analytics tools to support strategic decision-making.
- Maintain the Workday Strategic Sourcing contracts database.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to participate in process improvement initiatives.
- Handle special projects and other assignments as needed.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least one year of a degree program in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Excel, and Word. Experience with Access and PowerPoint is preferred.
- Knowledge of logistics, purchasing, business math, and business management principles.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships.
- A high level of professionalism, accountability, and attention to detail.
Location & details#
- Location: West Allis, Wisconsin.
- Work Modality: Hybrid, with 2 days per week onsite and the remaining hours worked remotely.
- Schedule: 15 to 20 hours per week.
- Employment Type: Part-time.
