ChemTreat is seeking a Water Treatment Intern to support sales and service operations. This role focuses on maintaining the profitability of assigned customer accounts by performing ongoing monitoring and adjustments to water treatment programs. You will work directly with plant operators and ChemTreat Account Managers to provide high-quality service, document results, and ensure systems operate according to contractual requirements.
What you'll do#
- Routinely visit assigned accounts to perform water treatment analysis and inspect equipment.
- Inspect customer systems according to contractual requirements.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with plant operators.
- Calibrate pumps, monitor product feed rates, and make necessary adjustments to treatment programs.
- Utilize and maintain company equipment in good, clean working condition.
- Communicate delivery and customer system issues to the appropriate departments.
- Enter data into software programs and generate service reports.
- Assist in water-related system improvement projects and monitor product inventories.
What you'll need#
- High School diploma required; college-level chemistry coursework is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience with chemical and hydrocarbon processing or related training is preferred.
- Technical capability for pulling water samples, running water analysis, calibrating probes, and repairing chemical feed pumps.
- Valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent software.
- Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in various environments, including indoor boiler houses and outdoor cooling towers or wastewater plants, which may involve high noise levels and the use of hazardous chemicals.
- Physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds, maneuver drums weighing 250-800 pounds, and work at heights or in confined spaces.
