2026 Fall Co-op Electrical Engineering

About the role#

CenterPoint Energy is seeking an Electrical Engineering student for a Fall 2026 co-op within the Houston Electric Operations division. This role provides hands-on experience in the utility sector, supporting engineering teams across various areas including Transmission, Distribution, Substation, Major Underground, System Protection, Standards and Materials, Distribution Planning, Realtime Operations, and Control Systems.

What you'll do#

• Assist engineers with diverse projects across multiple operational areas.
• Maintain and update Access databases and Excel spreadsheets to track project status.
• Compile and deliver project completion data to stakeholders in a timely and accurate manner.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Valid and current driver’s license.
• No prior experience required.
