About the role#
This is a 10-week summer internship program designed to provide firsthand experience in the construction industry. You will participate in projects within our operations or support functions. This role is full-time and on-site.
What you'll do#
- Learn the specific practices of our business line.
- Act as an advocate for safety at all times.
- Follow all CEMEX, OSHA, and MSHA regulations.
- Wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds.
- Meet or exceed our internal safety standards.
- Take on additional tasks assigned by management.
What you'll need#
- You must be in your 3rd or 4th year of a Bachelor's degree program.
- Preferred fields of study include Civil, Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical, or Mining Engineering, Business, Construction, Concrete Industry Management, Geology, or Environmental Management.
- High proficiency in MS Office, specifically with advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to read, understand, and analyze Collective Bargaining Agreements.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work extended hours, travel overnight when necessary, and work in an open office environment.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as walking, sitting, lifting up to 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, and climbing.
