The IT Intern position provides an opportunity to gain practical experience in technology support while reporting to the IT Helpdesk Manager. You will contribute to the department's strategy and vision by assisting with daily operations, special projects, and a final internship presentation.
What you'll do#
- Analyze data to recommend improvements to existing systems and processes.
- Set up new computers, networks, and software for employees.
- Install operating systems and software applications.
- Provide technical support for hardware and software issues.
- Assist IT staff by answering phones, processing paperwork, and responding to user requests.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure technology functions properly.
- Support the maintenance of existing systems, including troubleshooting hardware and software problems.
- Assist with network security by scanning for vulnerabilities and viruses.
- Collect and store data for reporting purposes.
What you'll need#
- Completed or current pursuit of a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technology field.
- Excellent oral and written communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
- High integrity and the ability to represent the company in a respectful and positive manner.
- A willingness to learn, ask questions, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Previous experience in a role involving direct customer interaction is preferred.
