About the role#
CareStar is seeking a graduate student for our Rising Star internship program. This part-time role provides hands-on experience in healthcare administration, clinical operations, and social services. You will work directly with our teams to support community health initiatives and gain exposure to the daily operations of a long-term care case management organization.
What you'll do#
- Assess individual needs and develop personalized care plans.
- Assist licensed professionals with assessment and case management services.
- Support clinical operations by managing records and ensuring HIPAA compliance.
- Conduct quality improvement tasks, including clinical intake audits and research.
- Assist with HR functions such as interview scheduling and social media job postings.
- Help with financial tasks like payroll processing and accounts payable.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or upcoming enrollment in a graduate degree program.
- Ability to commit to at least 20 hours per week for one year.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
- Academic background in Health Administration, Finance, Psychology, Sociology, Human Resources, or Business Administration.

- This position is based on-site in Cincinnati, Ohio.
- The internship is paid.
