About the role#
The Information Management Student role supports the Records Management and SharePoint team at Cameco. You will help manage both physical and electronic information assets. This position offers hands-on experience with SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365, and information governance. You will work alongside records analysts and SharePoint specialists to organize and improve the lifecycle management of corporate information.
What you'll do#
- Organize, inventory, and maintain physical records.
- Prepare records for storage, retrieval, transfer, and destruction based on retention schedules.
- Support projects involving the digitization and migration of information.
- Assist with document classification, metadata tagging, and quality assurance.
- Maintain SharePoint Online sites, libraries, lists, and document repositories.
- Manage document structures, content types, metadata, and retention settings.
- Develop user guides, procedures, and training materials.
- Assist with data cleanup and information governance initiatives.
- Research and recommend process improvements for records and information management.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a third- or fourth-year student in computer science, information management, library and information studies, or a related program.
- You must be returning to school for the academic semester following your work term.
- Experience with SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365.
- Knowledge of records management principles and retention schedules.
- Experience working with document management systems.
- Understanding of metadata, taxonomy, or information governance concepts.
