About the role#
The Property Management Intern will work directly with the property management team to support building operations and maintenance. This role involves exposure to properties undergoing capital improvements, including unit renovations and façade restorations. You will interact with residents, contractors, and internal staff to ensure building operations run smoothly.
What you'll do#
- Assist with daily operational procedures and distribute tenant bulletins using property management software.
- Manage punch lists for units undergoing upgrades and turnovers.
- Coordinate access for residents and contractors.
- Collaborate with the Property Manager and Assistant Property Manager on Housing Quality Standards inspections and necessary repairs.
- Monitor equipment repair statuses and follow up on open work orders.
- Help track active and aged building violations and update records in SiteCompli.
- Assist the site team with agency-specific inspections such as NSPIRE, REAC, MOR, and API.
- Work with the Legal Team to resolve housing preservation actions or litigation related to maintenance.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years old and currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree.
- A strong interest in property or operations management is required, with a preference for candidates studying Real Estate, Property, or Project Management.
- Strong customer service skills and a professional demeanor.
- Ability to organize tasks, prioritize work, and manage multiple projects at once.
- Attention to detail and an enthusiastic approach to teamwork.
- A willingness to learn new skills.
