    About the role#

This co-op position focuses on testing whether the dual loss of RALA and RALB sensitizes pancreatic cancer cells to pan-KRAS inhibitors. You will gain hands-on wet-lab experience in target validation and mechanism of action studies. Your work will involve CRISPR and shRNA knockout and knockdown, dose-response combination assays, and PDAC organoid studies. The findings from this research will help determine if co-targeting RALA and RALB can improve responses to KRAS inhibitors.

    What you'll do#

    • Conduct full-time laboratory-based research to support oncology drug discovery.
    • Maintain and manipulate 2D and 3D cell cultures, including organoids.
    • Execute molecular biology, cellular biology, and biochemical assays.
    • Perform gene transfer and genome editing using lentiviral and nucleofection methods.
    • Use CRISPR/Cas, shRNA, and siRNA for target gene perturbation.
    • Run cell viability and cytotoxicity assays.
    • Perform RT-QPCR, western blot, RNA-seq, and co-immunoprecipitation.
    • Mine published research to support experimental efforts.
    • Analyze data, maintain detailed lab records, and present findings in team meetings.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Molecular/Cell Biology, Cancer Biology, Genetics, Bioengineering, or a related field.
    • Minimum 1-2 years of wet-lab experience.
    • Technical proficiency in molecular and cell biology, genetics, or biochemistry.
    • Relevant research experience in an industry or academic setting.
    • Broad hands-on experience with cell and molecular biology methods.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
    • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
    • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts.
    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • Employment: Full-time.
    • Compensation: $24.00 - $45.00 per hour.
