About the role#
Bristol Myers Squibb offers a 10-week paid summer internship within our Global Procurement team. This program provides an introduction to our company structure, products, and brands. You will receive coaching from program leaders and sponsors while gaining exposure to senior leadership. This role is a platform to develop your skills and explore a future career in procurement. Top-performing interns will be considered for full-time opportunities in the Procurement Leadership Development program upon graduation.
What you'll do#
- Execute category strategy activities under the guidance of performance, operations, and strategic category leaders.
- Perform value analysis on costs and supplier quotes.
- Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency.
- Manage day-to-day supply issues and communicate information to internal customers and suppliers.
- Support purchase order conversion and other non-transactional tasks.
- Communicate issues to leadership and drive for resolution.
- Manage purchase order changes and communicate trends.
- Participate in an orientation covering company structure, products, and brands.
- Engage in coaching and guidance from program leaders and sponsors.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program majoring in Supply Chain Management, Data Science, Business Administration, Operations Management, Marketing, Communications, or related fields.
- Expected graduation date of Spring or Summer 2028.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Completion of Excel or data visualization coursework or certification.
- Experience analyzing large data sets.
- Proven capability to communicate effectively within work or academic environments.
- Interest in a full-time procurement career after graduation.
- Demonstrated leadership in academic, extracurricular, or professional settings.
- Internship experience in procurement, finance, or supply chain.
- Working knowledge of or genuine interest in AI and automation.
- Strong strategic thinking, relationship management, and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team player.
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site position.
- Locations: Princeton, New Jersey, or New Brunswick, New Jersey.
- Term: Summer 2027 (June 7 to August 13, 2027).
- This position does not offer visa sponsorship.
