About the role#
Bot Auto is looking for a Software Engineer Intern to join our AI Agents team. You will explore, prototype, and build AI agent technologies to automate workflows and improve productivity across our engineering, operations, and business teams. This position offers a chance to work with large language models and autonomous workflows to solve real problems in the freight and transportation industry.
What you'll do#
- Design and build AI agents that automate engineering, operational, and business workflows.
- Develop integrations between LLMs and internal systems, tools, and data sources.
- Implement agent workflows that involve planning, tool usage, memory, and multi-step reasoning.
- Experiment with prompt engineering, model optimization, and evaluation techniques.
- Build backend services and APIs to support scalable agent deployment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to find high-impact automation opportunities.
- Evaluate and benchmark emerging AI frameworks and tools.
- Contribute to internal platforms that enable the deployment of AI-powered solutions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong programming skills in Python, or experience with Go, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- A solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms.
- Familiarity with machine learning or large language models from coursework, projects, or internships.
- Curiosity about AI systems and a desire to learn new technologies.
- Experience with LLM APIs or agent frameworks like LangChain or AutoGen is a plus.
- Experience building APIs, backend systems, or distributed systems.
- Familiarity with RAG, vector databases, or prompt engineering.
- Exposure to AI evaluation methods such as benchmarks or human-in-the-loop feedback.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure, and containerization tools such as Docker or Kubernetes.
