About the role#
The Active Implantable Systems R&D AI transformation team develops AI-enabled workflows to help engineers manage documentation, automate routine tasks, and locate information. You will work alongside engineers and a technical mentor to build and test practical AI solutions for these engineering processes.
What you'll do#
- Develop and build tools that support engineering workflows using AI and machine learning.
- Integrate AI-driven approaches into existing engineering tools.
- Implement solutions for information retrieval, documentation review, or test automation.
- Analyze requirements with team members to design effective AI-assisted engineering tools.
What you'll need#
- Working towards a Bachelors or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering with a graduation date between December 2027 and May 2029.
- Experience with Python or a comparable programming language.
- Proficiency with data structures, web frameworks, or databases.
- Hands-on experience with Generative AI and Agentic AI.
- Familiarity with deep learning models, LLMs, ML basics, and RAG is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Interest in medical industry applications and learning new technologies.
Location & details#
- Location: Arden Hills, Minnesota.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Work Modality: On-site, 5 days per week.
- Duration: 12 weeks, starting May 17th or May 24th, 2027.
- Requirements: Must have reliable transportation and be able to pass a prohibited substance test for this safety-sensitive position.
