This internship is based within the advanced engineering group of the PowerDrive Systems division. You will contribute to the investigation, development, and testing of next-generation technologies. This role offers exposure to electric drive modules and professional advanced engineering workflows.
What you'll do#
- Support new technology evaluation through hands-on testing, data analysis, and finite element analysis.
- Assist with benchmarking and design reviews for electric drive units.
- Collaborate with engineers to prepare test reports and analyze simulation studies.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field.
- Basic understanding of finite element analysis simulation using tools such as Amesim or Ansys.
- Familiarity with simulation software including MATLAB, Amesim, and Ansys.
- Interest in mechanical gearboxes, fluid analysis, and electrical drive units.

- Location: Auburn Hills, Michigan.
- Modality: On-site (minimum of three days per week).
- Term: Rolling, year-round internship.
- This position is paid and requires the candidate to be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.
