About the role#
As a Global Commodity Intern, you will support the Global Commodity function for our Electrical and Hybrid vehicles business. You will work within a collaborative, global team where you will manage programs, analyze data, and engage with cross-functional teams and suppliers. This is a rolling, part-time internship that requires a process-oriented mindset and strong communication skills.
What you'll do#
- Initiate, recommend, and provide solutions for various projects and programs.
- Manage project tracking and perform analytical analysis.
- Submit RFI's for select projects and track supplier feedback.
- Assist with or co-lead special projects focused on continuous improvement.
- Market test to identify suppliers for resourcing activities.
- Conduct preliminary vetting of suppliers, including managing questionnaires and NDAs.
- Perform cost breakdown analysis to support supplier negotiations.
- Benchmark information and summarize best practices or lessons learned.
- Support activities across relevant commodities to ensure business alignment.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time enrollment in an accredited college, university, or vocational school.
- Pursuit of a degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering is preferred.
- Sophomore or Junior standing is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic data analytics tools like Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- A process-oriented approach with a high attention to detail and sense of urgency.
Location & details#
- Location: Auburn Hills, Michigan.
- Work Modality: Hybrid (must be able to report onsite at least three days per week).
- Schedule: 20 to 30 hours per week.
- Start Date: As early as May 2026.
- Employment Type: Part-time, paid internship.
