About the role#
This is an 8-month internship focused on technology development and test integration for the EcoJet flight control systems. You will work within a hybrid environment based in St-Laurent, Quebec, during the Winter 2027 term. This position is open to current university students.
What you'll do#
- Program and execute simulated flights and maneuvers using autopilot and hand consoles.
- Operate the flight simulator during testing phases.
- Design and deploy aerodynamic load profiles and ensure they are applied to flight control surfaces.
- Manage sensor calibration and record flight data.
- Process, reduce, and synchronize data from flight recorders and acquisition systems.
- Collaborate with the flight test team to keep on-board system configurations in sync and reproduce flight failures.
- Design, fabricate, and install hardware and software test subsystems.
- Contribute to the design of fault injection systems for experimental flight controllers and servo controls.
- Maintain the ISTR logbook and draft test procedures, checklists, and reports.
- Assist in designing the interface for a reconfigurable full-scale flight simulator.
- Maintain systems and deploy configuration changes.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a university program for electrical, mechanical, or aerospace engineering.
- Basic knowledge of aircraft flight dynamics and control operations.
- Ability to plan, execute, and document tasks with rigor.
- Proficiency with hand tools for installing mechanical parts and modifying electrical wiring or circuit boards.
- Experience using laboratory instruments like sensors, oscilloscopes, and multimeters.
- Strong command of both English and French.
- Familiarity with Matlab, Simulink, and CATIA V5.
- Basic programming skills in C++, Python, or Arduino.
- A willingness to learn new software quickly.
- Completion of a college technical program in mechanical or electrical engineering, or graduation from the École National d'Aérotechnique, is considered an asset.
